Modest operandi

As I slide down the gradient...

Pre-paper optimism
  1. Smile optimistically before the paper.
  2. Feel sleepy during the paper, but strive to complete it.
  3. Few comments after the paper other than its lousy format. Reformat brain cells used to store data of questions I didn't do.
  4. Remain tight-lipped over the difficulty of the paper, choosing instead to dwell on the specific problematic questions.
  5. Recognise the fact that negative comments on the paper or the candidate will not yield results; fights internal battle where true feelings show.
Post-paper depression

... I appear modest and calm.
