Kindness

Kindness Does Not Change Because of Others

If somebody does me a wrong due to ignorance, I will return endless love to him.

The more he does evil deeds...

... the more I will do kind deeds.

I will always radiate the fragrance of purity and loving kindness, just like a flower.

Every person needs to be his true nature, instead of changing this true nature according to variations in time, space and encounters. A fragrant flower will not change its own aroma and beauty because others think it pretty or ugly. This should also be the case for a person. If we are kind, then we should not become evil ourselves because of other people's evil.

I've always known that we should return evil with kindness, but have never exactly knew why until I read this.

On another note, my respect for Mahatma Gandhi has increased tremendously after I read about him in Wikipedia. His views on nonviolence are something worth thinking about.

Furthermore, when he was asked whether he was a Hindu, he replied:
"Yes I am. I am also a Christian, a Muslim, a Buddhist and a Jew."

I should have realised this earlier. I now see why I've been ignorant.

Hey - just randomly blog surfing, and came across this post. Gandhi was an amazing individual. Perhaps I could also entice you to check out Henry David Thoreau's essay "Resistance to Civil Government" which Gandhi cited as an inspiration...
